Dear Praying Friends,

Little did I know the blessings that awaited me as I flew across the United States on February 13, to Los Angeles, California.  First, I had the opportunity to present the ministry of Becoming a Christian Organization at a Spanish and English three-day Pastors’ Conference in San Diego. On Saturday, after speaking on a local Spanish radio station for one hour, I returned to Los Angeles and ministered for one week at a Bible Conference in the Spanish Fundamental Baptist Church.  It was a joy to share God’s Word with them in the many services.  I was blessed to fellowship with Pastor Joaquín Hurtado and approximately 250 members.  The following Sunday morning, I went to La Verne, California where I preached at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, once in English and twice in Spanish.

Early Monday morning Pastor Joaquín and I flew to San Antonio, Texas for another Pastors’ Conference in the First Mexican Baptist Church.  I am so thankful for the many opportunities the Lord gave me to minister there.  The following weekend I preached in still another Spanish Baptist church near San Antonio.  Monday morning I flew back to Los Angeles where I was able to do my laundry.  Tuesday I had an invitation to go fishing in the Pacific Ocean with one of the brethren from the church.  Yes, I caught a few!

Wednesday through Friday found me in still another Pastors’ Conference north of Los Angeles where I received many rich blessings from the Word.  After a very busy week I received an invitation to a birthday party Saturday night from one of the men of the church who works for a large company. He had invited both English and Spanish speaking friends.  It was a catered party with a huge meal with all the trimmings.  There was a beautiful large yard at the side of his home where tables for over 150 people were arranged in two sections.  He asked me to bring a devotional in English and then in Spanish for all in attendance.  At the appropriate time he introduced me and everyone was quiet and respectful while I brought the devotional in English and then I turned to the other group and gave the same devotional in Spanish.  It was a joy to share the Gospel with so many of his unsaved friends.

Sunday I returned to La Verne, California where I again preached at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, this time in a united adult Sunday School class in English.  Even though their attendance is good, they desire to use my book to begin one-on-one home Bible classes.  On Sunday night I preached again at the Spanish Fundamental Baptist Church.  Monday through Tuesday noon, I attended one more Pastors’ Conference at the Lighthouse Baptist Church.  It was my privilege to briefly share our ministry in two sessions. That night I was finally aboard an airplane heading back home to Florida!  It is wonderful to be home!  Dotty chose to stay home and was a big help with office work and mailing boxes of books to me.  I praise the Lord for the good results from my California and Texas trips. Many responded by consecrating their lives to the Lord’s work.  Many churches have been ordering the book, Becoming a Christian, for their Sunday School classes in preparation for their outreach program for evangelism.  Pastors find this a real asset in teaching basic doctrine to their members and visitors.

We have some extra good news to share with you!  As you know, all of the Texas state prisons and all of the Florida state prisons now have the book, Becoming a Christian, in their libraries.  Since then, we have received requests for books in both languages from 137 prisoners.  It would be a thrill for you, as it is for us, to read many of these letters as they expressed their desire to use the book as a guide for their Bible study in their cells. We are grateful to those who have made donations to this project to furnish books to the prisoners free of charge.  While I was in California, churches and individuals donated $1,500 to put Becoming a Christian in their state prisons.  If you are interested in reaching out to the prisoners in your state, please write or call me and we will be thrilled to help make this possible.  We are counting on your prayers and financial help to continue this prison ministry!

God is blessing His Word, and it shall not return unto Him void, but it shall accomplish that which He desires, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto He sent it.   Thank you for your continued support for us through your prayers and special gifts.  They are so very much needed at this time.

Yours in His Service,

Myron and Dotty Philippi
