Dear Praying Friends,

We are encouraged by the willingness of friends like you who are helping us do the work that the Lord has laid upon our hearts.  It is our ongoing mission to make the life-changing message of salvation accessible to all.  It is a real blessing to receive letters from inmates who are now studying their Bibles right along with the book, Becoming a Christian, in state prisons in Texas and Florida.  In the past three months we have received more than 180 letters from prisoners in the Texas and Florida state prisons requesting their own book, not only to be able to study and fill in the blanks, but also to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and grow in their Christian life.  It is so important to get good Christian literature into our prisons.

By getting this book into the hands of the inmates we pray that it will make a real difference in their lives.  We desire to give everyone in State and Federal prisons throughout the United States this same opportunity.  The only way that this can become a reality is for God’s people to support this ministry.  We need at least $1,500 to supply this need for each state.  At the present we have received a few donations to help toward this project in prisons in California, Montana, Indiana, Illinois and Alaska, but more is still needed to be able to place these books into each of these state prison libraries.

Two weeks from today, the Lord willing, Dotty and I will be traveling to Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina for meetings and conferences.  We plan to be gone the entire summer, visiting pastors and churches, as we did in Georgia last summer, encouraging them to get their church members involved in one-on-one evangelism using the study guide, Becoming a Christian.  How can we stand idly by and let the lethargy and complacency of our day dominate our Bible-believing churches?  At one time they were very active for the Lord and had a real heartfelt burden for the lost souls in their area, but now other activities have taken its place.  Although some are witnessing, very few are holding home Bible studies with the unsaved to allow God’s Word to work in their hearts for salvation and spiritual growth.

It is impossible to stop the sinful practices that are increasing in our nation; however, we all can be spiritual mouthpieces for our Lord to help reach the lost for Christ.  It is important to have Bible classes with people who need the Lord.  We want to encourage you to dedicate at least one hour a week to have a home Bible study class with an unsaved neighbor or friend using this proven guide. God will richly bless your life if you do.  “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.  And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:1-2

We are grateful to God and those individuals who are making donations to the Becoming a Christian Organization, Inc. with the goal of placing three copies of the book,Becoming a Christian, in every State and Federal prison library.  Thank you for all that you have done for us, and for participating in our ministry through your faithful prayers and financial support.

Yours in His Service,

Myron and Dotty Philippi
