Dear Praying Friends,

Greetings in our Saviour’s name!  In Luke 2:17 we learn that after the shepherds visited the Christ-child, they were witnesses to a world that very much needed to hear the good news.  “And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.”  May we also feel the urgency to spread the Word about our Lord Jesus Christ.  How can we be silent?

This past year has been a year of many challenges and changes in our lives!  We praise the Lord for the ongoing, prosperous work in Guadalajara.  Pastor Miguel is doing an outstanding job.  It is a source of great joy to have different ones write, send e-mails, or phone us to share news.  It reminds us of Proverbs 25:25,  “As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.”  Thank you for your prayers for them and for us.  We look forward to returning to Guadalajara for the month of March for Bible conferences, preaching engagements, and a wedding to top it off!

Since moving to Florida, we have had the opportunity to help in several Spanish churches, as well as an English-speaking church in the Saint Petersburg-Tampa area.  God is opening up many different opportunities, and we ask for your prayers as we seek God’s direction as to where we can best help and serve.  We already have an invitation to help with a Spanish ministry in Americus, Georgia, for a week next year.

From May through August, the Lord willing, we plan to be in several north-central states to visit our supporting churches and help out in evangelism as the opportunity presents itself. We will soon be calling pastors in order to plan our itinerary.

It was wonderful to visit two of our children and their families during Thanksgiving week.  We are thankful that my father, Albert Philippi, is in good health and very active.  On Sunday, December 21, he will be 99!  We are so grateful for the loving care Paul and Ruth provide for Dad in Guatemala.  It is our joy to live only 5 minutes from my Aunt Leeta Danielson, 93 years old, and to be a help to her in many ways.  She continues to be very active in church and Work Day activities.  We are thankful for good health.  Dotty’s wet-type macular degeneration is now under control and no laser treatment was necessary in September.  Myron’s eyesight has also improved.  Thank you for praying.

Praise: for the Lord’s direction in our lives and help during this year of transition

Praise: for opportunities to disciple others, one-on-one, and challenge many to begin classes with the unsaved

Prayer: for the Lord’s direction as to how we can best help and serve the Lord in Florida

Prayer: for the ongoing ministry in the church and missions in Guadalajara under the leadership of Pastor Miguel Angel Camacho and his assistant, Luis Canul

May you have a joyous Christmas and New Year as you share the Good News of the Gospel!  We appreciate and enjoy the many cards and notes you have sent.  Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support.  You are a source of great blessing and encouragement to us.

Sincerely in Christ,

Myron and Dotty Philippi
