Dear Praying Friends,

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  We praise the Lord for the new printing of the book, Becoming a Christian, in English.  It came off the press the middle ofJanuary!  We were thankful we could finally send out all of the backorders.  During the month of January we cared for my 97-year-old aunt in our home as she recovered from a back operation and other physical problems.  When she was able, we moved her from an independent living facility to an assisted living complex where she is doing well.  February passed quickly with several preaching opportunities in mission conferences as well as in different churches in the area.  We also enjoyed a special visit from our son, Chuck, and his wife, Janice.

On March 5, Pastor Miguel Camacho, his wife, Clemen, and 4-year-old Adrian, came to visit us for 27 days from Guadalajara, Mexico.  We had such a wonderful time together and Pastor Miguel and I had the opportunity to preach in several Spanish and English-speaking churches in the area.  You may remember that Pastor Miguel is my “spiritual son” who became the pastor of our church 4 years ago.  He is faithfully carrying out all of his pastoral responsibilities as well as directing and teaching in the Bible Institute.  They are choice servants of the Lord.  We thank God for them daily!

On the last Wednesday of Pastor Miguel’s visit with us, a car slammed into the back of our car.  We were in stop-and-go traffic at a drawbridge near our home.  A man had sped up to not allow a car at his side to enter into our lane.  For sure he was not watching where he was going.  When the accident happened, I had my head turned to the right talking with Pastor Miguel, and immediately felt pain in my neck and shoulder.  Dotty and I both suffered whiplashes and have been going to a chiropractor for help.  Dotty is fine now, but my whiplash was more serious and I have had a problem of numbness in my right arm and pain between my shoulders.  Treatments by a specialist in Prolotherapy have been a tremendous help.

April was taken up with doctor appointments.  My aunt had a cataract operation, which was very successful and has enabled her to read again!  Two weeks ago I had a necessary eyelid operation.  The skin between the eyelids and eyebrows was drooping so badly that I had lost my peripheral vision.  One inch of drooping skin was removed from each eye, and I am so thankful that I can now see without restrictions!

Prayer and Praise

  1. Praise the Lord that recent medical tests for Clemen show no further cancer!
  2. Pray for continued victory over alcoholism and drug dependency for Juan Carlos, a new believer.
  3. Pray for the Lord’s direction this summer as we meet with pastors to encourage them to involve their church members to have one-on-one Bible studies with the unsaved.
  4. Pray for healing for Myron’s neck and back.  It has been over a month now and he is still having discomfort.
  5. Pray for us as we edit and prepare for a new printing of the book, Becoming a Christian, in Spanish.

Thank you for your faithful prayers and financial support.  It has been vital to our continued ministry.  God has been so very good to us during these past months of challenges and blessings.

Sincerely in Christ,

Myron and Dotty Philippi
